In my previous post, I had mentioned my expectations on Kimi doing good in his role as the lead driver of Ferrari. That’s what happed in today’s Australian GP. Kimi let the race from Pole to finish. Breathing at around 900 bhp at 19,000 rpm, Ferrari had the most powerful car on track today and Kimi made full use of it. Infact he was pushing hard and he was setting consecutive fast laps even when he was 16 seconds ahead of the debutante Hamilton. The Ice man was really set the track really on fire with an impressive display to win the Australian GP. Kudos to Hamilton for making it to the podium on his debut race.
There were other intersting moments too in the GP. Red Bull’s Mark Webber and Renault’s Kovalainen went for a 360 degree spin and still managed to continue with the race and Coulthard taking his car for a jump over that of Alex Wurz. All these moments and Ferrari proving its dominance, made sure that the 2007 Season had started off on the right note.
